Making Bingo as Relaxing as Possible

Category: Hobbywildchild @ 7:40 pm

While online bingo is an engaging and stimulating, the stakes up for grabs and the pace of play can make the experience somewhat stressful whether you are playing via computer in your living room or in a bingo hall with friends and neighbours. If played over a long enough period of time this stress can compound and cause a number of negative effects that can diminish the fun of playing.

However there are techniques that you can employ to truly make you a cool headed, marathon bingo player. A lot of these practices can equally be used in your daily life to lower the stress of office environment, crowded bus rides, endless lines at the bank, etc. and are therefore worth learning and incorporating into your daily life—but they will definitely make you a better, longer-lasting bingo player.

Make sure you are getting enough sleep, and enough ‘time-off’

Burn-out is the biggest factor to loss of enjoyment, and the two biggest factors of burnout are over exposure and exhaustion. So make sure you get plenty of sleep and take enough time off in between gaming sessions. Also, make sure to take regular breaks during play.

Plenty of water and a proper diet

Before joining in any prolonged bingo sesh make sure that you’ve had a sat-down, relaxed and balanced meal. While bingo halls do provide food, it’s often cheap and as such not particularly good for you (think French fries and hot dogs). If your bent is for online-gaming it is almost impossible to grab for something quick and easy (and as such not very good for you) when in the swing of things. Make sure you tank up on something with a bit of green and low-fat protein before you even start. And as ever, plenty of water throughout the day.

Nesting

Being comfortable in the space you’re in is a considerable boon to mental health. If you are at home this bit is a cinch, though if you spend a large amount of time in one place to game, say your office chair, it is worth considering spending a similar amount of cash on a comfortable office chair. If you are a bingo-hall type person it might be worth it to bring a cushion along with you. Personal items are good too (but within reason please).

Proper Posture

Proper Posture saves on back pain as well as increases blood flow and helps facilitate good breathing. It’s good to go about your day trying to remember posture, hopefully improving it in general over time. If you are gaming at home in your office chair, again it might be good to invest a little cash in said chair. If you are at the social club just try and remember not to slouch.

Good Breathing

Good therapeutic breathing is an integral part of a number of practices (e.g. yoga) that promote stress relief and good health. When playing bingo try and remember every once and a while to take a deep breath, hold it for however long feels comfortable and let it out slowly. Of course don’t breathe like this constantly, just whenever you’re feeling a bit stressed.
